Dr. Paul Zimmerman
Founder and Co-CEO
Dr. Zimmerman co-founded AHCS in 1997 and has served as co-CEO since its foundation. Dr. Zimmerman received his undergraduate degree from Emory University and his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Miami School of Medicine. He completed his post-graduate training in orthopedic surgery at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami and has been dispensing medicine for over 20 years. Dr. Zimmerman is considered an expert in workers’ compensation who has served as medical director for a number of workers’ compensation insurers, third party administrators, and self-funded employer programs including Liberty Mutual, The Home Depot, Pan American Airlines, Baxter Healthcare and Sears. Dr. Zimmerman was a pioneer of workplace safety systems and back-to-work programs currently utilized by thousands of companies across the country. His work as a patient advocate has earned him wide accolade in the medical community.
Dr. Gerald Glass
Founder and Co-CEO
Dr. Glass co-founded AHCS in 1997 and has served as co-CEO since its foundation. Dr. Glass has always been driven
by the use of technology in improving the dynamic between physician and patient. Previously, Dr. Glass was founder, President and CEO
of MebSoft, a medical billing software company. MebSoft was a pioneer in retrospectively analyzing carrier reimbursement as it related
to diagnosis. Its proprietary software was the first of its kind in improving reimbursement for providers by utilizing a rules-based
system in linking diagnosis to reimbursement. Prior to entering medicine, Dr. Glass received his undergraduate degree from North American
University while enlisted in the United States Army. He later completed Officer Candidate School and served as an officer in the United
States Marine Corps. After leaving the service, Dr. Glass earned a Physician Assistant degree from Western University of Health and
Sciences and a Doctorate of Medicine from Windsor University School of Medicine.
Dave Bowen
President
Dave Bowen joined AHCS in September of 2007, bringing more than 15 years experience in sales and executive leadership for various medical service companies. Most recently, Dave was the Executive Vice President of Sales for PainCare Holdings, a publicly traded company. He led corporate expansion of PainCare’s services focused on the treatment of Back Pain by heading up the growth of the In-Office Electrodiagnostic Screening program for Orthopaedic Surgeons and Pain Physicians nationally. Prior to that, Dave worked for Advanced Prosthetics and Orthotics of America as Vice President of Business Development. Dave brings to AHCS a well rounded background that includes strong relationships in a variety of industries through his professional career as well as his charitable ventures.
Veer Hossain
Chief Information Officer
Veer Hossain joined AHCS in the summer of 2008 at the executive level as the Vice President of IT Infrastructure. In that capacity he led AHCS through a complete infrastructure overhaul from a client-server based solution architecture to a complete SaaS provider architecture. He was promoted to CIO in 2011 and is now responsible for all corporate infrastructure, software development and IT purchasing and asset management. Veer has spent his career as a corporate IT troubleshooter and consultant designing and implementing complex solutions for major clients such as GE Power, HCA, Healthways, Aflac, Healthstream, Kaiser Permanente, Amsurg, Duke University, and Duke Clinical Research Institute. Before joining AHCS, Veer was the Nashville Portfolio Executive for Comframe Software. Veer holds his BS from NC State University and is a Six Sigma Black Belt. He is involved with several not-for-profit charities including Hope South Florida and WorldVision.
Sean Duffy
Chief Operating Officer
Sean Duffy first joined the AHCS management team in January of 2009 as CFO. He was promoted to Operating Chief in 2010 where he is responsible for day-to-day operations as well as overseeing strategic development and execution of major corporate transactions. Sean brings a wealth of transactional experience and entrepreneurial expertise to the AHCS management team. Prior to joining AHCS, he was an investment banker with Citi in New York where he helped raise over $2 billion of debt and equity for both private and public companies and helped advise on some of the largest M&A deals in the past 10 years. Sean also spent time in the Securities and M&A groups at the law firm White & Case in both New York and Hong Kong. He has a BA with honors from Pomona College, a JD from the University of Virginia and an MBA from Oxford University, England.
Henry Torres
Chief Financial Officer
Henry Torres joined AHCS in December of 2009, bringing years of experience in health care finance and accounting. Most recently, Henry spent nine years in various executive level finance and accounting roles at Noven Pharmaceuticals, a publicly traded high growth specialty pharmaceutical company where he helped the company deliver double digit revenue and income growth through a joint venture, raised almost $200 million in cash through licensing transactions, effectively executed an acquisition and merger of a psychiatry business and ultimately sold Noven for half a billion dollars to the largest pharmaceutical company in Japan. Prior to Noven, Henry worked in the areas of auditing and accounting at Ernst and Young, LLP and KPMG, LLP. Henry graduated Magna Cum Laude and holds a Bachelor in Accounting and an MBA from Florida International University and is a Certified Public Accountant.
